♦ Can I just turn up at the boutique and order a bespoke item or do I need to make an appointment?

Our shop opening hours are Mon-Sat 10am-5pm. We are always happy for customers to pop in for a browse, a try on or just to gather inspiration and our team are fully trained in taking an array of commissions, such as our personalised pieces and Pieces of Eight jewellery, ‘off the shelf’ enamels in different shades, advising on ring sizing etc. However, if you want to discuss more complex designs, please always phone ahead to book an appointment with Sophie or to see if she’s in the workshop as she’s not always available as very busy creating current commissions.

Visit our Bespoke Q&A for more details.

♦ How much extra does it cost to have bespoke?

Having something ‘bespoke’ ( handmade for you), doesn’t make it more expensive than buying ‘off the shelf’. The cost depends on the materials used, silver or gold etc, and the complexity of the design and how long it may take to make. We do not charge extra for bespoke, we provide quotes before we proceed with any order and are also more than happy to work to your budget, providing ‘menu style’ options to choose from.

Visit our Bespoke Q&A for more details.

♦ What happens if I buy a ring or a bangle from your website/shop and it doesn’t fit?

Bangles and Rings bought directly from our Ventnor shop or online can be resized as long as they are unworn and returned back to us within 1 week. (we will not pay the price for postage returns)

Prior to purchase, we do advise that you have your finger measured by at least two high street jewellers, or for best results, let us measure you in our Ventnor boutique. For bangle measurements, we recommend that you measure an existing bangle – ‘Medium’ size is an industry average and recommended for most people. Please see our Size Guide for more details.

Visit our Terms and Conditions page for more details.

♦ What happens if I order a bespoke ring or a bangle and it doesn’t fit?

For bespoke pieces, if we’ve made a mistake in determining your size, resizing will be free of charge. However, if sizing was not carried out by us or if your hand size/finger size has changed since sizing, a charge will be incurred.

Visit our Terms and Conditions page for more details.

What happens if the earrings I’ve received from an online order are not the right colour or size I expected?

We have an industry standard no returns policy on earrings. We have done our upmost to provide images that are true to colour and size so please make sure you choose size and colour carefully.

Visit our Terms and Conditions page for more details.

The product I’ve received is not what I had ordered online

If we have sent you the wrong item, we will exchange free of charge including postage. However, if you have accidentally ordered the wrong item, we will exchange it but a charge for postage will be incurred. Items must be returned in all original packaging. We have an industry standard no returns policy on earrings.

Visit our Terms and Conditions page for more details.

Ive found a design I like but it’s not yours, can you replicate it for me?

We will not copy other makers. However we will look at the piece and discuss what we can do to make it within our own style of making.

♦ Can I return an item without a receipt of purchase?

No, we do not accept returns of pieces without a receipt of purchase.

Please see our terms and conditions for more information

♦ Do you use sterling silver in your silver jewellery?

Yes, we us 92.5 Sterling Silver in all of our silver pieces. Gold pieces are made from solid 9ct or 18ct gold (unless stated). Any plated pieces (clearly marked in description) are made from sterling silver and are plated with 2 microns of rose or yellow gold.

♦ Can you repair my jewellery?

Our jewellery is designed, made and finished in house and should be worn with care. If within 6months of purchase, there is a genuine fault, please return back to us and we will repair free of charge. However, if the damage is deemed to be caused by the wearer i.e. pulling, slept in, chemical reactions to swimming pools/ hot tubs etc. a charge will be incurred.

Please see our terms and conditions for more information

Do you repair jewellery that isn’t made by you?

It is not possible for us to repair jewellery that has not been made by us.

♦ My chain has snapped what do I do?

Broken chains are not the responsibility of Honeybourne Jewellery, if they are faulty on arrival and returned within 3 months of purchase they will be replaced like for like, free of charge upon receipt of the faulty chain. However, anything brought to us outside of this time frame will be deemed due to wear and tear i.e. pulling, slept in, chemical reactions to swimming pools/ hot tubs etc. as it completely depends on how you wear and care for your chain.

♦ I want something bespoke but I need it in short notice

This very much depends on the piece, our personalised jewellery, such as our ‘Pieces of Eight’ collections, bookmarks and key-rings, can be made as quickly as 2-3 days. More intricate, involved pieces such as engagement rings or pieces using inherited stones and gold can take between 4-8 weeks but we try to be as accommodating as is possible.

Please contact us for more details.

 Can you up-cycle old jewellery?

Yes! We love nothing more than to remove old Diamonds, Sapphires, Emeralds etc from old fashioned settings, incorporating them into brand new Honeybourne Jewellery style designs. We can also provide any stones required to suit any budget. Although we cannot melt down old gold to make, say, a brand new ring (main body of), we can however use it in many other ways. See our ‘Bespoke Archive’ for lots of examples of what’s possible.

Can you use semi precious stones and silver?

No! Semi-precious stones, such as Amethyst, Peridots and Turquoise, can chip or break when being removed from old settings, however we can provide any stones required to suit any budget. It is not possible for us to re-use silver either.

♦ Do you sell/replace watch batteries?

We do not sell or replace any watch batteries.

♦I’ve lost my earring, do you sell spares?

Sadly not, we make our earrings as a pair, so to make one is often more work than making a brand new pair up. We do however sell new butterfly clips as they can loosen over time but if you pinch them together it can tighten them.
