AJ Wells is privately owned family business based on the Isle of Wight. Established in 1972 we are one of the largest wood burning stove manufacturers in the UK selling our Charnwood and Vlaze brand of products across the globe. We also have the largest vitreous enamelling plant in the UK where we manufacture much of the iconic signage and wall cladding for London Underground. We also produce enamel surface finishing for a number of artists, designers and architects including Simon Patterson, Tom Dixon, Thomas Heatherwick and Mini Moderns.

We have a longstanding relationship with Honeybourne Jewellery and have collaborated on a number of projects. UK manufacture, design and creativity is key to the way our company is run and we like the way in which Honeybourne Jewellery shares this ethos. Whilst the physical scale of our products may be different there is a definite synergy in the way we work.

Back in 2010 we commissioned a miniature wood burning stove crafted in solid silver as part of an experimental arts project. It was featured in Charnwood’s international calendar and was subsequently gifted to our Japanese partners and placed on permanent display in their Toyko showroom.

In 2012 we were involved in the refit and design of Honeybourne’s Ventnor boutique producing the facia in gloss black vitreous enamel and supplying encaustic tiles from one of our fair trade projects based in Cambodia.

Over the last few years we have been producing Honeybourne’s cult range of door plates. Using the exact same techniques as our London Underground door plates Honeybourne’s are intricately laser cut from low carbon steel and enamelled gloss black. We also cut a complementary range in solid brass which are then hand finished.
