We absolutely loved making this special matching n We absolutely loved making this special matching necklace and earring set. Whilst on a family holiday in Norway, our lovely customer and his family visited one of the emerald mines, where you can search through the gravel for little specks of emerald. Most of what you find is tiny, but they were incredibly lucky to find one really lovely-sized piece, along with a few smaller ones. They brought the emeralds home with the idea of turning them into something special for his wife, and we were very lucky to be trusted with bringing that idea to life. There was another lovely personal touch too. Our customer is a very talented and well-respected vintage watch restorer, and he had a piece of gold from an old Rolex which he wanted us to use for the jewellery. We melted it down and used it to make the necklace, as well as the detailing on the earrings. It was a real pleasure to work with, the gold melted and rolled beautifully! He had been inspired by the Backset Opal Necklace on our website, so we used that as the starting point for the design and created a matching set around their beautiful Norwegian emeralds. We think the combination of the emeralds and the old Rolex gold makes these pieces extra special, and it’s safe to say everyone was absolutely thrilled with how they turned out and what a lovely treat to be sent pictures by the customer of his wonderful wife wearing her new pieces. We love knowing that this set now holds memories of a family holiday, a very special find, and a little piece of an old Rolex, all brought together into something completely new. #honeybournejewellery #isleofwight #emerald #oldgold #ventnor
We’ve just added this little forget-me-not flower We’ve just added this little forget-me-not flower ring to the shop. It has a tiny turquoise stone sitting right in the middle of the flower. We don’t know about you, but here at Honeybourne, We don’t know about you, but here at Honeybourne, we love a realistic miniature and Sophie absolutely nailed this one. 🛹 Having made tiny skateboards before she knew the detail made the difference and she had to go above and beyond with every tiny detail🤓, from the grip tape and trucks (yes, the length & height from board matters!), to the wheels and even the skateboard sticker on the underside, complete with his initial. This piece was commissioned by the parents of a 15-year-old skater, and we loved hearing how thrilled they were and that they couldn’t wait to give it to him and his reaction made it even more special. Apparently, it was “the nicest thing he’d ever been given.” 🥹 #honeybournejewellery #isleofwight #skateboarder #skateboardart #silver
